Snips’ software is built on the principle of “privacy-by-design”, and privacy is a value Snips endeavours to honor in every aspect of its business.
Snips collects the following personal data about you when you interact with its Websites and Voice Interfaces.
If you visit a Website, Snips may collect technical information such as information about your interaction with the pages of the Website (scrolling, clicking, etc.) or the type of operating system you are using, and your IP address.
Snips needs this information in order to make the Website available to you and to improve the Website. The legal bases for this are that such personal data is required in order for Snips to provide you with the service you requested, as well as Snips' legitimate interest in optimising your experience and the Website’s performance.
If you create an account on a Website, Snips may collect :
personal information you provide, such as your email, your username, your IP address, the name and description you give your Apps, and your Github account if you connect it to the Console. The intents you create on the Website or the content you add to your Apps or their descriptions might also contain personal data if you include any, but you are free to include as much or as little personal information as you wish in these fields;
an identifier for your account;
information about whether or not you are a professional or non-professional user of the Website and your intended use of the Snips Software and/or Services; Snips may consider you to be a professional user if you sign up with a professional email address (for example, if you sign up with an address "email@example.com") or if you indicate your intention to use the Website in a professional capacity on the Website;
technical information, logs and timestamps related to your use of your account.
Snips may use this information to:
improve the Website; the legal basis for this is Snips' legitimate interest in optimising your experience and the Website’s performance;
if you are a professional user, better understand your use of your account and the Website and tailor Snips’ communications with you on that basis. The legal basis for this is Snips’ legitimate interest in developing its relationship with its business prospects and customers.
You will be offered options regarding the collection of end-user personal data through the Voice Interfaces you create:
You may choose to activate the collection of device analytics data (a unique identifier, technical information about end-users’ use of the Voice Interface, such as the name of the Voice Interface used, a timestamp, and the intents triggered, “Analytics Data”);
If you are a Maker/non-professional user, by default, Snips will collect heartbeat data (a unique identifier and a timestamp, “Heartbeat Data”). You may choose to opt-out of the collection of Heartbeat Data. Snips does not intend to activate the collection of heartbeat data on Voice Interfaces used for commercial purposes.
If you are an end-user of a Voice Interface:
if the maker of the Voice Interface you are using has activated the collection of device analytics, Snips may collect Analytics Data consisting in a unique identifier as well as technical information about your use of the Voice Interface, such as the name of the Voice Interface you used, a timestamp, and the intents you triggered;
If you use a Voice Interface made available by a Maker who has not opted-out from the collection of Heartbeat Data, Snips may collect Heartbeat Data consisting in a unique identifier and a timestamp of your use of the Voice Interface;
Snips never collects any transcripts of your queries or any voice data.
Snips may use this information to:
For Analytics Data, to improve Snips' Software, products, and services, as well as to provide support, identify and fix issues.
