External MQTT Brokers

Via snips.toml

You can specify the broker to use in the snips.toml configuration file with the mqtt key. For more details, see Platform Configuration.

Via Docker

Alternatively, if you are running Snips via Docker, you can specify an external broker by launching with the --mqtt <mqtt_server>:<mqtt_port> argument. In this case, the Snips MQTT bus, Hermes, will be disabled.
docker run -t --rm --name snips --log-driver none -v /home/pi/.asoundrc:/r
